Matthew 6: 25-34 Do Not Worry “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

an uneXpected amd eXceptional gift: "Dreamland eXpress" by John Denver listen here. Here's what happened: I felt nudged to play a CD that had been to my Dad's. When I heard this song, I felt God's presence with me, and my Dad's and realized that (along with others that have been transforming my heart) could easily be heard as God asking us to love and be loved by Him, and to realize we can always be in His presence, if we choose to be. Thank you Dad and God, for the "nudge" xoxo

Everything is Going to be All Right
How should I not be glad to contemplate
the clouds clearing beyond the dormer window
and a high tide reflected on the ceiling?
There will be dying, there will be dying,
but there is no need to go into that.
The poems flow from the hand unbidden
and the hidden source is the watchful heart.
The sun rises in spite of everything
and the far cities are beautiful and bright.
I lie here in a riot of sunlight
watching the day break and the clouds flying.
Everything is going to be all right.
Derek Mahon, from Selected Poems
Friendship exhibits a glorious ‘nearness by resemblance’ to Heaven itself where the very multitude of the blessed (which no man can number) increases the Fruition which each has of God. For every soul, seeing Him in her own way, doubtless communicates that unique vision to all the rest... Knowledge” in biblical language never refers to head Knowledge but always to experiential involvement. Thus, when Jesus defined eternal life as “that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (John 17:3,KJV), he was speaking of the constant, close interaction with the Trinitarian being of God. Jesus brings this grace into the lives of those who seek and find him." p. 37 ~ Renovation of the Heart in Daily Practice: Experiments in Spiritual Transformation by Jan Johnson and Dallas Willard

"Nature works no faster than need be. .. She knows that seeds have many other uses than to reproduce their kind. If every acorn of this year's crop is destroyed, or the pines bear no seed, never fear. She has more years to come. It is not necessary that a pine or an oak should bear fruit every year, as it is that a pea vine should." ~ Henry David Thoreau, Faith in a Seed

OCTOBER 5 : Unification in Spirit : "If a person lives only for his body, it is as if he has closed himself in a
Prison. The Person who lives for his spirit opens his Prison doors, and sets himself free. Do not ignore your conscience, but listen to it. It will lead you toward the truth you need.
[Question:]
Why do I feel so angry when I have a disagreement with someone? Why do I feel so embarrassed when I don’t love a particular person? When we do not love others, and we disagree with them, we are disagreeing with God, who lives in us all. We are essentially disagreeing with ourselves.
For God, I am a different person than I am for myself. God brings out the best in me.
