Many years ago, I taught Sunday School at Unity Renaissance Church in Chesapeake, VA. One activity we did involved moving around the room and filling words that describe each person, one for each letter of the alphabet. The penmanship, mine and the kids, brought back the emotions from this beautiful exercise.

P is for Passion

A human being is a part of the whole, called by us the “Universe,” a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest—a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us.

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation, and a foundation for inner security.  ~ Albert Einstein

Billy Collins' Litany recited by 3 year old
Cut and paste so that I don't lose the things that grab my attention in the early morning hour of my day
"Delicate negotiation between the clear and the mysterious"
Elegiac : expressing sorrow often for something now past
Fierce and Firmly
Grounded in the everyday

Inspired by Dr. G's share of this video

Passion for Life
The path in your life,
may never be straight.
Contain bumps and curves,
where many are great.
Your personal experiences,
have shaped who you are.
Embrace your mistakes,
and each unique scar.
There's always new things,
in life we may learn.
With every page,
and chapter we turn.
There's just one simple,
but very important rule.
Your passion for life,
should be used as your fuel.
