July 6 - Chair

Today's photo a day prompt: "Chair" - This one reminds me of being at my Aunt Madeline's
28 Lester Avenue, Pawcatuck, CT.
When she had a stroke and had to move to a nursing home in 1984, my Godmother and Aunt, Joan Malaghan moved to that house. She has since moved to a  little place called Edythe K. Richmond Homes. It's a little wierd, because it's right next door to where my Grandmother last lived on her own, but it's cute. Aunt Joan's grandson now lives at 28 Lester Avenue, with his wife and twin toddler boys. I wonder where those chairs went.... Note. NEVER sit on one of those metal chairs in the summer without a cushion :)

If you'd like to see a "living chair" and a man with nearly as much patience as God: http://pooktre.com/photos/living-chair/

And this is one of my favs, and the one I posted for this day's photo a day challenge:

July 5 - On the floor

I don't think I can compile a whole blog around the subject, but here is the photo I posted for the challenge "on the floor" - a picture of Elizabeth's socks and sneakers and my sandals. The photo was taken this morning, but the "evidence" was left last night upon our return from our walk around our neighborhood to enjoy fireworks :)  Normally on the floor is cat hair, dog fur, or is it cat fur and dog hair... and random bits of other normal parts of everyday life....

Now I am watching a movie I've not seen since BEFORE I became and English Major. wow - and cool.

"Sucking the marrow out of life doesn't mean choking on the bone"
~ Robin Williams as John Keating in Dead Poet's Society

One day last week I wrote to my dear friend Jess:
"Most of the time I feel as though I am pretty good at sucking all the good stuff out of life
These last few days I've bee feeling like life is sucking everything out of me." JBLM :) - I didn't even realize I was paraphrasing Thoreau :)

July 4 - Fun updating this one from 2012 - 6 years later

Cartwheeling through Life... Happy birthday Cartwheel for America today. 7/4/18

"Each one of us is a gift... to our parents... to each other... to the people we love and  who love us and to life." ~ John Denver
"Forgetting all I'm lacking / Completely incomplete..." ~ Lifehouse
Gifts to each other - think on that for a while.
Hearing songs I love in an entirely different way now. For example, "Hanging by a Moment" by Lifehouse
IndepenDANCE Day! "I'll take your invitation / You take all of me" ~ Lifehouse
John Denver's song "For You" led me to this gem: "The Gift You Are" Just wow!
Kickball with Misty - oops! she popped it... again... 7/4/12 oh how she loved that backyard.
thank you for sharing this, Maura 7/4/18

July 2, 2012 "Busy"

"Busy" is one of my least favorite words, except in the song "Forever Young" by Joan Baez. "May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
May your song always be sung
And may you stay /Forever young"

So I created this blog post around the video I made 2011 in honor of my wonderful Mom xo and the things I've been doing today...
